The legal battle between Bugo and Morgan opened today in Imperia, following the dispute between them at the 2020 Sanremo Festival. The singer, whose name is Marco Castoldi, appeared today – Tuesday February 20 – before the single judge of Imperia to respond to the accusations of defamation brought against him by his “colleague” Cristian Bugatti, alias Bugo. The story concerns the argument between the two during the fourth night of the singing event 4 years ago, when Bugo left the Ariston stage after Morgan sang a “retouched” version of their song, l publicly attacking, leaving the audience and presenters stunned. The judge adjourned the hearing until April 30 to settle the case.

What happened on the Ariston stage

At 2 a.m. on the fourth evening of the 2020 Sanremo Festival, Morgan began singing the song in competition Sincere (written by Bugo) but changing the text without warning. The original read: “Good intentions and education. Your profile picture, hello and good evening. And gratitude, circumstances, drink if you want but do it responsibly. Put everything back in order. Brush your teeth and don't feel envious. Don't complain that things always get worse. Don't forget that you need to fill up with gas. But that's just me.” Morgan intoned very different words: “The bad intentions, the rudeness / Your bad impression last night / Your ingratitude, your arrogance / Do what you want when you put your foot down / But you only know how to cultivate desire / Thank God you are on this stage / Respect the one who brought you there / But it's me. Bugo noticed this and left the stage, leaving his colleague alone on the stage.
