The law of cohesion

Entered into the Official Journal in July 2024, the cohesion law is presented as a series of apparently different “regulatory packages”, which identify different beneficiaries but which have a only common denominator: reducing the current and persistent gap between the North and the South in the world of work. Bonuses for young people and women, the prospect of stability

Those who since September 1 they will hire people under 35 with a subordinate contract they will be exempt from paying 100% of their social security contributions for 2 years, up to 500 euros per month for each worker. If the headquarters or workplace is located in a southern region, the exemption reaches 650 euros.

The same request is granted to employers who, still from September 1, They will hire women of all ages on a permanent basis as long as they are:

  • unemployed for at least 6 months and residing in a SEZ (Special Economic Zone) in the South
  • unemployed for at least 24 months, regardless of where they live

The push to the South comes through self-employment

Unemployed people who are not yet 35 years old on September 1 and who wish to create a business in one of the strategic sectors will be able to benefit from the100% exemption from payment of social security contributions (excluding bonuses and INAIL) up to 800 euros for each worker hired, provided that he or she is also under 35 years of age at the time of hiring, for a total period of 3 years.

Reserved exclusively for companies in the South, regardless of their age and production sector, as long as the workplace or head office is located in the SEZ zone, the law is being expanded and offers a total exemption from the payment of contributions for 24 months.
