Artevento, even in autumn the kites return to color the sky of Cervia with 3 special events

Arteventothe oldest international kite festival on the planet (scheduled for Cervia every spring since 1981), returns to the forefront from October 11 to 22 with the fall spin-off entitled “One Sky One World” which concludes the 44th edition with a triple meeting to deepen the key themes of its mission: the spread of kite cultures as the intangible cultural heritage of humanity, the peace promotion and intercultural and environmental sustainability.

To open the dance, kite flying on Lungomare D'Annunzio beach on Friday October 11. Among the most anticipated professionals this fall, the name of stands out Albert Trinks, the internationally famous Dutch kite flyer author extraordinary “edo” kites inspired by Japanese tradition and dedicated to the defense of human rights.

Besides his most famous work, inspired by the portrait “Afghan Girl”Trinks will also present two other kites inspired by the young Sharbat Gula, the refugee immortalized by the American photojournalist Steve McCurry.

The Dutch kite fits perfectly into the peaceful and supportive context of the Festivalwho is planning one this fall special dedication to Japan and its noble art. Indeed, at the center of this edition there will be the new exhibition “Around the world in 80 kites – special Japan”the special episode of the exhibition organized by the Kite Museum, which takes place at the Magazzino del Sale Torre from October 11 to 22. The aim of the exhibition is to pay tribute to the new twinning between the Kite Museum and the Tako no Hakubutsukan in Tokyoas well as the acquisition of a collection of unique works in the world from the City of Nagoya.

and acquisition of the only existing complete collection of “musical” kites – koryu dako, that is to say “of ancient tradition” from the city of Nagoya, known for the original form of insect and for the fact that in flight it produces a sound similar to the chirping of cicadas thanks to the vibrations of the bamboo wind harp which characterizes this model.

The afternoon of Saturday October 12 will be dedicated to literature and meetings with important authors, while the event that will close the weekend will be the Peace Parade, scheduled for Sunday October 13 – day on which international day One Sky One World is celebrated – and organized for the first time in collaboration with the PerugiAssisi Foundation to dedicate Artevento's recent participation at the “peace table” of the historic march for human rights.

The event will see the meeting between civil society, NGOs and associations with theobjective of paying particular attention to the themes of rescue at sea, hospitality, interculture and solidarity. It is precisely for this reason that Artevento chooses a special guest of honor to witness the message of the day. This is the carpenter and fisherman Vito Fiorino, rescuer of 47 Eritrean refugees in difficulty during the maritime tragedy which, on October 3, 2013, claimed the lives of 368 people in Lampedusa.
