A new partnership to promote conscious and sustainable tourism. This is the objective of the collaboration between TrénorthLombard Railway Company, e Discovera platform that integrates tourism and mobility services. The initiative was presented to TTG Travel Experience in progress these days at Rimini.
From entertainment to culture and sport
On a single digital platform, customers will be able to choose between different proposals that combine train travel with all the services to best organize their trips and vacations in Lombardy.
“Thanks to the partnership with Discover we have evolved our proposition of “Train Trips”, train+experience products which are enjoying ever-increasing success, with more than 56 thousand tickets sold during the first nine months of 2024,” declared Leonardo Cesarini, commercial director of Trénorth.

“Collaboration with a partner specializing in the tourism sector allows us to improve the quality of the proposals and expand the services offered. Customers will thus be able to organize their entire trip with a single platform. We hope to attract even more train travelers in their free time, for the benefit of the environment and the territory,” added Cesarini.
There are proposals to satisfy all types of tourists: from a boat trip on the great lakes to a day of trekking for sports enthusiasts. But also visits to cities of art and museums, rafting for the more adventurous and walks on the most beautiful trails in the region. Without giving up sustainability: with the use of the train the objective is to reduce Co2 emissions, but also the impact of traffic on the roads Lombardy.
Trenord and Discovera: an alternative and sustainable tourism model
“We have built a platform for travel mobility with great attention to respect and enhancement of the territory”, explained Pasquale Scoppeliti and Riccardo Maggioni, founders of Sportythe sports tourism business he designed Discover with FNM, among the main sustainable and integrated mobility groups in Europe.
The objective is to offer “an alternative tourism model, simple and with low environmental impact. With the hope that it can be truly effective, at such an important moment: today, the world is rethinking its way of life and its consumption, with great attention to sustainability”, added the two founders.

Their hope is that collaboration in Lombardy is a first step to then extend the project to the entire country. “Let’s start with the Region’s tourism and mobility offerings Lombardy with a partner like Trenord, but we aim to expand the pool of Discover to the wholeItaly, become a leader in the national market and satisfy every customer, from “day travelers” to those who want longer stays,” explained Scoppeliti and Maggioni.

But that's not all: the next stage of the collaboration will be “Snow Trains” during the 2024-2025 winter season. A formula that combines the train ticket for the mountains of Lombardy to the ski pass, to which travelers can add other services.
And there will also be a return of proposals Trénorth to use the train in your free time. Like special tickets for major fairs, for example EICMA – the international two-wheeler show scheduled for November 7-10, 2024 – and Artigiano in Fiera, scheduled for November 30 – December 8, 2024. And a direct trip to the markets Christmas Milan has Trento and Bolzano in the month of December.
