What is the impact of climate change on tourism? The greenhouse effect will displace travelers from Mediterranean towards the Northern Europe? And what will be the consequences and countermeasures to adopt? Research answers these and other questions Climate-sensitive tourism of Enit, produced with Studio Giaccardi & Associati and with Bocconi academics, presented at the recent Rimini tourism fair.
Maria Elena Rossidirector of marketing and promotion of Enit, writes: “(…) I would like to draw attention to three elements which should constitute the basis of the future of the tourism industry, from a sustainable perspective: vision and strategic planning, innovation and the human factor and the development of new skills”. All this must be anchored in the link between environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

We read a pact of collaboration between supply and demand: on the one hand, tourist places capable of protecting resources (landscape, cultural, etc.); on the other hand, as he points out Elena Di Racohead of the Enit Research Office, “the tourist who chooses his destination ensures (now more and more) that his footprint is light, that his stay is characterized by attention to the territory, that local itineraries are valued , that the actors of the shortest possible supply chain are involved.(…)”.
The authenticity of the experience becomes the sign of a positive economic return for the host company. In addition, avoiding the peak season of the vacation destination means appreciating its veracity through the relationship with residents in the moments when they return to their daily lives.
