THE September 27 science and innovation are celebrated throughout Europe: in fact, the European Researchers' Nightan event that the European Union has been promoting since 2005 and which involves thousands of institutions in all EU countries every year.
The aim is to spread scientific culture and bring together audiences of all ages with people who dedicate themselves every day to research, protagonists of a night of experiments, live scientific demonstrations, conferences and seminars. And then exhibitions, guided tours, shows and concerts.
In Milan, the doors are open outside opening hours and entry is free. National Museum of Science and Technology “Leonardo da Vinci”.

European Researchers' Night 2024: Open evening at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan
Is called Open house evening the event developed by the Milanese Museum for the European Researchers' Night 2024: from 6 pm to 11:30 pm, a whole free evening of meetings and dialogues with those involved in research, science and society, workshops, installations, exhibitions, but also music, gastronomy and fun.
The programme of meetings explores a wide range of topics through the prism of science and technology, all very current and at the centre of everyday life. From the future of space exploration to migrations between stereotypes and prejudices, from sociality and the risks of digital technology to the climate crisis, from nature and pollution in cities, from food and sustainability to artificial intelligence.
Visitors will then be the first to interact with two new installations by the collective All universalamong the pioneers ofgenerative art (i.e. created by algorithms and artificial intelligence), and visit the new photographic and multimedia exhibition Space for our planet, curated by astronomer Fiorella Coliolo and Benoit Delplanque, TIMKAT production manager, and created with the support of, among others, ESA (European Space Agency) and the Italian Space Agency ASI.
A story enriched with more than 40 testimonies on how space technologies can offer solutions for the ecological transition and contribute to achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. A traveling project that has already stopped in strategic locations such as the European Parliament in Brussels, the Paris Astronomical Observatory, the United Nations in New York, the squares of Barcelona and Lisbon.
And the evening will continue with numerous activities and experiences in the company of researchers, workshops for children, performances, DJ sets and catering with free entry in all areas of the Museum, exceptionally accessible outside opening hours.
