The sister sounded the alarm last Friday September 20, because Maria Campai had no further news. They had agreed that she would be the one to call back to be picked up, in the town of Viadana, in the province of Mantua. But Campai, a 42-year-old Romanian national, never made that phone call. Her body was found a week later in a house not far from where her sister Roxana had accompanied her and left her, with the idea of seeing her again a few hours later. The two women lived together in Parma. Detectives investigating the woman's disappearance have arrested a young man on suspicion of murder. According to what has been reconstructed so far, Campai met him online and the two men arranged to meet in Viadana, perhaps for a job interview. We don't know exactly what happened. After the meeting, the 17-year-old allegedly killed her by violently hitting her in the head and possibly even trying to suffocate her. He then allegedly dragged the body among the ruins of the abandoned house, with the idea of hiding the body. Telephone records linking the young man to the victim also facilitated the investigation. The show also covered the case Who saw it.
