“I am very excited by the fact that my last tournament will be the Davis Cup representing my country”, emphasized the Mallorcan champion, “it is like coming full circle, because one of my first joys was the final at Seville in 2024. “I feel very lucky for everything I have been able to experience,” he says. The Spaniard, winner of 14 Roland Garros, four US Opens, two Wimbledons and two Australian Opens, turned 37 on June 3 and has recently lived with a series of injuries: “In this life, everything has a beginning and an end,” he explained. “I think this is the right time to end what has been a long and more successful career than I could ever have imagined.”
