Rafael Nadal announced his retirement from professional tennis at 37 years old. To communicate his farewells, he chose his Instagram profile.

“I am very excited by the fact that my last tournament will be the Davis Cup representing my country”, emphasized the Mallorcan champion, “it is like coming full circle, because one of my first joys was the final at Seville in 2024. “I feel very lucky for everything I have been able to experience,” he says. And he thanks “the entire tennis sector, all the partners for many years. I have experienced a lot with them and I have experienced many moments that I will remember for the rest of my life”, explains -he, while the images show Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

“The reality is that the last few years have been difficult, especially the last two. I don't think I could have played without limits and that led me to make this decision,” continued Nadal who announced his retirement from tennis. .

The Spaniard, winner of 14 Roland Garros, four US Opens, two Wimbledons and two Australian Opens, turned 37 on June 3 and has recently lived with a series of injuries: “In this life, everything has a beginning and an end,” he explained. “I think this is the right time to end what has been a long and more successful career than I could ever have imagined.”
