Kamala Harris corrects him: “He plotted an attack on democracy only because he didn't like the outcome of the election”
January 6, 2021 was “a day of love”. Word of Donald Trump, who, during an electoral vote, returned to talk about that moment when, after losing the presidential elections to Joe Biden, his supporters attacked the Capitol in Washington DC. The clashes at the Capitol, during which four people lost their lives (three demonstrators and a law enforcement officer), represent one of the darkest pages in the history of the United States. But not for everyone. Four years after the 2020 election, Trump has continued to question the election result and sent several signals of proximity to his supporters – many of whom ended up behind bars – who participated in the assault on Congress on January 6, 2021.
Trump's 'imaginative' reconstruction and Harris' response
At a town meeting in Miami, Florida, Trump responded to a question from a former Republican constituent, who had turned his back on the mogul after the events on Capitol Hill. In responding to him, the former president gave a somewhat imaginative interpretation of what happened that day. “No one was killed, there were no guns, none of us had guns,” Trump falsely claimed, causing several people in the audience to turn their noses up. The video was also shot by the companion of Kamala Harris, Democratic candidate in the November elections, who once again attacked her rival and tried to seduce some of her more moderate voters: “Donald Trump incited to attack our country's democracy because it didn't I don't like the outcome of the election. If the day of January 6 stunned you a little, there is also a place for you in our campaign,” writes the Democratic candidate on X.
JD Vance and the 2020 elections
Weeks before the vote, Republicans appear to be uniting behind Trump's theories about the Capitol and the 2020 presidential election, which he claims was stolen.
