An espresso for the Pope. This is the beautiful, unforeseen event that Pope Francis highlighted during his visit to Luxembourg, the first stage of the apostolic journey which will also see him embark on Belgium. Immediately after lunch with Cardinal Archbishop Jean Claude Hollerich, the pontiff entered – in a wheelchair and accompanied by three bodyguards – the Grupetto restaurant on rue Notre-Dame, next to the archbishopric. “Please, can I have a coffee?”, the question we don’t expect from the Pope. The surprise of the boy behind the counter is perfectly captured by the photographs of the moment which are making the rounds on the web.
An employee of the place said he was absolutely shocked by the presence of Pope Francis in their bar, certainly unexpected: “It was the most stressful coffee I have ever prepared”. But that's not all. On the short trip to the bar, the Pope met and greeted various people. Among them was a pregnant girl who received a special blessing from the pontiff.
