France coach Deschamps, happy that Pogba is coming back to play

The French coach's words leave no doubt: “I am very happy” that Paul Pogba is coming back to play. Interviewed by the Transalpine Football Federation TV, about the sentence which reduced the midfielder's disqualification for doping to 18 months. “I've been speaking with him on the phone for some time, certainly throughout this period which has been very complicated for him. This is obviously very, very good news for him,” Deschamps said. “At least today he knows that he will be able to play football again from March. There will be a period from January to March during which he will have to do very specific work and preparation. It's a relief for him,” added the coach. “I’m also very happy for him. Of course, it is still a heavy sentence but 18 months is less severe than the 4 years of the first sentence..

So there is this light that comes back on, there will be steps to take, but from a human point of view it is excellent news for him,” Deschamps further declared. “In the meantime with regard to his club, Juventus, which today is his employer, there will be discussions but at least he knows that he will play again in March 2025. And he loves playing football so much,” Deschamps said.
