Rome caput Triathlon. The World Cup kicks off in the capital on Saturday multidisciplinary sport which includes swimming, cycling and running. The race is broadcast live on Rai Sport and streaming on Rai Play, with the women's event from 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and the men's from 11:55 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Athletes will traverse the EUR Roman Quarter, swimming in the lake and cycling the streets between the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana and the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. The race is scheduled in the park, along the artificial body of water created for the 1960 Olympic Games.
The Triathlon World Cup Rome 2024 is organized by the Italian Triathlon Federation with the contribution of the Ministry of Sports, the Lazio Region and Rome Capital and the patronage of CONI.
Eight Azzurri players called up: Nicola Azzano, Euan De Nigro and Carlotta Missaglia of the Carabinieri, Bianca Seregni, Sharon Spimi and Verena Steinhauser of the Fiamme Oro, Gianluca Pozzatti of the 707 and Angelica Prestia of the Army.
Riccardo Giubilei, president of the Italian Triathlon Federation (Fitri), emphasizes: “We are happy and honored to be able to welcome, once again, this wonderful city in our competition of absolute international importance which attracts, unsurprisingly, enthusiasts from all over the world and great champions for the very high competitive value but also for the evocative landscape along which the race route winds. A unique thing that only a city like Rome can offer. »

“We are happy and proud to welcome athletes, coaches and fans of this sport. for the second edition of the Triathlon World Cup in Rome”, observes for his part the secretary general of Fitri, Valerio Toniolo, according to whom the current event is “an event of absolute international prestige which, from its beginnings last year, proved to be a success with the lake, skyscrapers and historic EUR buildings as a backdrop along the route, just a few kilometers from the wonders of the ancient world like the Colosseum and the Circus Maxim.”
Toniolo concludes: “Transparency, seriousness and a fruitful spirit of collaboration have made it possible to repeat this year also an important event, which testifies to how the world of Italian triathlon has once again won the challenge of organizing great international events.”
