Jannik Sinner triumphs at the ATP 500 in Rotterdam in straight sets against Australian Alex de Minaur and consolidates the third place in the world rankings he obtained by qualifying for the final of the Dutch tournament, overtaking Daniil Medvedev. It was not an ordinary match against de Minaur, ninth in the ranking. After a slow start, thanks to the break obtained in the first games by the Italian, the Australian countered quickly in the rallies and the first set ended at 7-5, after several set point canceled. No retreat for de Minaur in the second half, and indeed the match heated up: to break by Sinner, against to break of the adversary, once again to break from South Tyrol who took the lead 5-3, then closed the match 6-4. Sinner wins another trophy after her historic success at the Australian Open just three weeks ago. “A huge thank you to the public: you are a fair public, you respect your opponents even when there are Dutch athletes on the field. That’s one of the reasons why I love coming to this tournament, see you next year,” Sinner said at the end of the match.
